Calendars.com, through Go Retail Group, has its roots in sheepskin. In 1992, Big Horn Sheepskin was being operated out of a retail shoe store in Austin, Texas. Big Horn was doing well but business was slowing down, so of course they began looking into other product lines. There was a high level of interest in calendar stores – with enough customer traffic to make things work. So, the decision to diversify the Big Horn product line was made. Marc Winkelman was operating successful kiosks in the Detroit area and after a move to Austin the formerly named Calendar Club was formed. In its first season Calendar Club opened 61 locations in the U.S. and one in Canada.
Since then, Winkelman and the team have been busy increasing product lines and sales channels. In 1999, the Calendar Club team launched its first retail website, Calendars.com, with the world’s largest calendar inventory. Calendars.com would be linked to the Calendar Club stores, so that any customer in one of the retail locations can order from the website. In 2016, Calendar Club rebranded as Go Retail Group.
