The Labradoodle was first bred intentionally in 1989 by Wally Conron at the Royal Guide Dogs of Australia, who was trying to solve a specific problem: a client in Hawaii whose husband was severely allergic to dogs needed a guide dog, and the Standard Poodle cross was the solution. The Labradoodles 2027 Wall Calendar from The Gifted Stationery Co. photographs twelve of these dogs across the cross's full range, from a first-generation cream Labradoodle with the lab-shaped head and the wavy coat to a later-generation chocolate dog with the tighter curls that come from more Poodle input in the breeding.
