The wiry-coated working terrier from the hills along the Anglo-Scottish border, bred to keep up with a fox-hunt on its short legs and then to bolt the fox once it had gone to ground, takes twelve pages in Border Terriers 2027 Wall Calendar. The breed was recognized by the Kennel Club in 1920 (relatively late, given how long it had been working the borders) and is famous for the otter-shaped head, the double wiry coat that sheds dirt rather than holding it, and the calm, even temperament that makes the breed a favorite among first-time terrier owners. The featured coats run through the breed's range: red, grizzle and tan, blue and tan, and wheaten, with the dark mask and ears that are characteristic of the type. The photography catches them at work, in the field, and in the relaxed home poses they fall into at the end of a busy day. This title comes from Red Robin Publishing.
For Border Terrier owners, working-terrier fans, and anyone who has spent any time around the breed and appreciated the steady, capable temperament, the photography here delivers the dog at its most characteristic.
